Loved building it .
It was good fun , brought out the kid in me .
Never to old to do this .
I have been towing for 22 years and this is great.
Even at my age 61.

I truly enjoyed putting my truck together.

Both my son (the wrecker driver) and my grandson are raving about the lego tow truck and all it will do....but my son is sending me progress texts of "I'm on page 7 of 221 pages of directions." I'm enjoying every minute of this!!! Can't wait to see the finished product. More to come - promise. Overall - very happy with the purchase.

Loved it this is a set I've always wanted and I finally got one

Got to say that this is a monster of a Tecnic Lego set. At 1877 pieces, it is one of the longest builds I have done, taking almost a week to complete. The resultant model is huge, and has more moving bits than I can list. It has a good sturdy feel to it, and is enormous fun to play with. And it looks darned good out on display. It's a quality item. There are lots of fancy gears and pneumatic lines, so you get to learn quite a bit about engineering principles along the way. It's THE best Lego set I have ever had.
Comes complete with two sets of instructions, for a monster tow truck or for a flat bed with crane. Both are good fun, but the tow truck is definitely the more complex model.
Great set, 5 stars.

This was my first venture back to Technic lego, since I was about 10 years old. (I'm now 30.) Parting with the money was a difficult choice, but I have to say that it's money very well spent. You get to build two models: the main integrated tow truck, and a cab and trailer type model. Once I had sorted out the pieces into various types, I got building. Each model took me the best part of the day, and I got my children involved by letting them get the pieces in advance. Both models have great functionality, and my children had a blast using them to tow various dolls cars around, pretending that the Bratz had a blow-out etc. Taking the models apart takes a while too, but stangely it's all part of the fun.
I forgot how satisfying building Lego sets can be, and it's proved very educational to my children about how gears etc all work.

I'm 12 and I hadn't built a Lego technic for about a year and I have to say parting with this amount of money was hard, but it is definitely worth it!
The A model is BIG and loaded with features and the B model is even larger and doesn't have as many features as the A but it makes up by being large and very cool!
This model is worth investing in but make sure that you have at least two days for building. It does get to you after a while!
This model is a great investment and the pieces don't break and it hardly goes down in value. Buy it new as you can be sure that all of the pieces are there. Buy it off Amazon as the price is cheaper than on Lego and it is nearly always in stock.

Having been a fan of Lego Technic for several years, it was quite a hard task parting with such a large sum of money for one model. Every waking hour of mine, on my days off from work, was spent slowly constructing this model. It's not a great model for those people who haven't built something on this scale for a while, but for the avid Legohead, it's a must-have item.
Mine currently sits atop the shelving unit, next to the Lego VW Beetle model (yes, they are big shelves!) and it always gets comments from whoever visits.
The initial parting of the cash may seem like a hard decision to make, but I can assure you that it will be very worthwhile.
Go on, let your inner child out and buy this model!

just to let you know this is a big model, i mean really big, but what a project to build, what with other things that needed doing it took nearly two weeks to finish and i must say i was well chuffed with the result one of the top five technic kits i have done.

It was a blast to build.

Ok this is the best model I have ever owned it is amazing. So I finished building it it took mabey 7-8 hours so I finished mid-day and I had left it in the hall and I had to move a TV from up stairs to down stairs and on they way down I dropped the TV on it and was so sad i just finished it like 10 minutes ago and I pulled the TV off it and nothing had happend it was totaly fine. There is olny 2 draw backs if ypu are getting this get 2 sets to have them bolth if you are going to play with them because you can recover anything but cant haul it away with out the low boy truck because the fold down car grabber thing wont fit anny modle execpt for the other tow truck. So if you are thinking about getting this get it P.S. dont drop a TV on it just dont.

Love it, thank you so much!!

My seven year old chose this with his birthday money. He was so excited! He loved building it. There were some challenges that made him really think but he got it done and plays with it every day.

Ordered this one to go with the other logo tow trucks i have and it was bigger than i expected but still very happy with the product

The instructions are not clear, and the packaging makes no sense. I bought this for my grandson but it is a grown up project. Disappointed.

Fairly impressed. Only missing 3 pieces and 1 broken piece.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband and he loved it. It took him a week to put it together because of so many pieces. It was a challenge but he was determined and gave him a little hobby. He was excited to see the finished product! It came out so awesome. Loved that the truck has hydraulics and lots of fully functioning parts. Just an overall great gift!

Purchased this for a gift. I was very concerned do to it still being in Hong Kong two days before I needed it. Not sure what they did... but I followed the tracking they sent...and it went from Hong Kong to Cincinnati then to Iowa in less than 48 hours. I was shocked and very impressed at the same time. They messaged me and always got back to me when I panicked assuring me they would have it here. I believe they paid a pretty Penny so I’d receive it on time!!
Thank you sooo much!!! Outstanding customer service!!
Merry Christmas

This was bought for a 6 year old. Yes that's right, he is quite intelligent and had enjoyed assembling other Lego models by following the instructions and getting a little help from his Dad. This was a baptism of fire, but looked like a last chance to buy a classic Lego model at the retail price. We bought the separate motor at the same time.
He had made a couple of simpler Technics models before constructing the 'B' model first over a few days, then we integrated the motor. It was long and impressive. It stayed assembled for a few months before he decided to tackle the 'A' model. This took him a few hours again over a week or so, but he enjoyed every moment. Again Dad helped, but found the instructions excellent. Unfortunately the motor cannot be integrated using the Lego instructions. Nevertheless what an impressive and versatile beast with plenty of working features -jib, winch, hydraulic tail lift, V6 engine, steering, opening bonnet (hood). The only metal part was the tow-hook. This has stayed assembled for over a year now and is half model half toy.
There are plenty of parts that can be used to build a very complex model if you are apt at creating your own models and integrate it with other Lego Technics.
I have no hesitation in recommending this be added to any collection.

Although i am a few years beyond the recomended ages of this 'toy', and i spent a couple weeks talking the wife into the purchase, I do think that it was well worth it. We (yes, she was more than happy to [...] in and 'help' build) worked on the second model first and it took 2 days. (We both work but still took 10 hours of time to assemble.) After that we spent about the same amount of time on the main truck. Unique time spent together! :)
As far as how good this is for kids... definatly wouldnt recomend this for any kids under the recommended age. Even those above it should have plenty of patience, and probably a mom or dad there to help sort through all the tiny little pieces.

This is a wonderful kit providing hours of fun building the two models. I first completed the alternative truck and was pleasantly surprised: it's huge, good looking and a great starting point for a big rig with a conventional trailer - this is a fine model in its own right.
The tow truck is beautiful: hefty and intimidating, fun to play with and a nice display piece - if you have room for it. Compared to the Lego 8421 mobile crane you get more value for money: same number of parts for a lower price but the building takes longer and the secondary model is outstanding.
Only a few minor setbacks: Prepare to spend a couple of hours sorting the bricks, which comes unsorted in twenty-plus plastic bags. And some of the red beams were from different production batches and had distinct color variations, but it helped to sort them into similarly colored groups.
Highly recommended.

This product is not for the beginner but WOW what a kit. Our 9-year old spent hours sucessfully assembling the kit and is really enjoying the assembled model. We highly recommend this kit!
